Hi, I’m Al Krakosky, and I’m an artist. Today, I’m going to show you how to draw a basketball player shooting a jump shot. We are going to start with his head which you don’t want to do too high because you need room for his arms. They are going to be extended up and he’s going to have a ball up there. So we are going to start with his head down here. We are going to draw an oval type shape tilted because he’s looking up at the ball. And I’m going to do his neck, a little bit of his neck and go right into his shoulder. Now his arm is are going to block his face a little bit as it’s extended up. Draw the other part of his arm and then his hand. Fingers up like this he just released the ball. And the same thing on the other side. Just duplicate what you did for this. I’m going to start drawing the jersey. I’m going to add some creases and some wrinkles into this. Especially since it has some motion to it. He’s jumping in the air. I’m going to go down to his waist. I’m going to start the shorts. They are going to be bent a little bit and they are kind of baggy. So again some more wrinkles and creases. Just like that. And we can draw some stripes down the basketball shorts. And then do one more for the other leg. And then start drawing the bottom of his leg. We got the calf leading down. Same thing for this side. And then draw socks and then the basketball shoes. They are going to be pointed down a little bit cause he just pushed off the ground. And you just do a basic triangle shape for the shoe. You get a half circle fill it in here. Half circle in the back fill it in. And some lines for the laces. And same thing for this shoe. You wouldn’t see all of it. And then we’ll go up here and we’ll draw the ball. And it just left his hand so it’s not too far away. And you got half circle, half circle, half circle, half circle. Some motion lines. And then we can draw an ear, add some hair. Fill that in. And we can do the same stripe we did down here up here leading down into the shorts. And of course we want to erase the chin that’s inside the arm here and the part of his neck. Cause his arm is going in front of his face just a little bit. And we are going to draw the floor so we can see how high he jumped. Some motion lines here. And then just some facial features. Eyebrow, eye, nose, mouth. And that is it. That is how you draw a basketball player shooting a jump shot. Thank you for watching and keep on drawing.
