Choi. And I’m Yunji de Nies. A windward Oahu woman was killed this afternoon after being run over by her own runaway truck. KITV4’s Paul Drewes has the details in tonight’s top story. This Toyota Tundra truck had careened over the side of a steep Ahuimanu Hills driveway, after police say the woman driving stopped halfway up. 7:52 "the driver was alone at the time, unlocking a gate. For whatever reason started to roll, and apparently got run over by her own vehicle" After hitting the woman, the truck then toppled off the driveway, and slammed into a nearby home. 8:17 "as it started to roll, the wheels were turned slightly and it roll into the neighbor’s house" Neighbors heard the crash and called 9 1 1. The 46 year old woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where she later died from her injuries. Meanwhile at the end of Halemanu Street, police waited hours to bring up the percariously perched truck before they could continue their investigation into this fatal accident. 8:45 "parking brake, whether it was in park, neutral so forth" As police investigated, neighbors looked on in shock even though they were unsure of who the woman’s identity.
