I don come from a family of Disney nuts, so though I seen the big hits (The Lion King, Lady and the Tramp), there are a lot of movies I didn see while growing up. But last year, after watching two consecutive Disney family flicks my 9 year old daughter and I just loved (Candleshoe and Escape to Witch Mountain, respectively), we got on a bit of Disney kick, and since then we been trying to watch every movie in the catalog.

Not an easy task, since there are hundreds, stretching all the way back to 1937 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Some of them aren even available on DVD; some, like the controversial Song of the South, are next to un findable. But we worked out our Netflix queue, and got some movies on iTunes or Amazon Instant Play.

Oh my goodness that Popeye movie is one of my absolute favorites. I had it on VHS as a kid and my brother and I would watch it practically EVERY DAY. I so badly wanted to live in that adorable town of Sweet Haven, and was so thrilled to find that it still exists today, as a tourist attraction! However it may as well just be on the moon because I never in a million years be able to travel there. But it still makes my heart happy to watch it to this day.

Also, I call my son Sweet Pea all the time, and one day when he asked me why I always call him that I told him found you in Sweet Haven, and that is why you are my Sweet Pea. He didn get it of course, but I still looking for the movie on DVD so he can watch it with me.
